Our
occupational therapy team welcomes students for Level 1 and Level 2 fieldwork affiliations. Sinai offers a fast-paced environment where you can experience multiple settings and see patients with a range of diagnoses. We work closely with your faculty advisor to meet your university’s specific requirements.
Level 1 Affiliation (30-60 Hours)
For many students, the Level 1 affiliation is their first hands-on experience in a hospital. Our occupational therapists will help you become familiar with the diagnoses, evaluations and treatment techniques in your setting. You’ll observe how the treatment team works together and begin assisting with assessment, treatment and documentationM.
Level 2 Affiliation (12 Weeks)
Your Level 2 affiliation is designed to prepare you for life as an entry-level practitioner. Working closely with your supervisor, you’ll perform all aspects of evaluation, treatment, documentation and discharge planning. You will collaborate with the treatment team, report on patient progress and make recommendations about therapy and discharge needs. Students are also asked to prepare a presentation for the department on a timely topic in the field.
